Apparition Intervention (AI) is a small private investigation firm based in London who specialise in cases that require the help and guidance of spirits and ghosts to solve them. The team consists of seven people who are employed not only for their sharp and astute minds, but their openness and ability to be led by and communicate with the apparitions they encounter. For that reason the police go to them when they’re at a loss and hit a dead end. Individuals go to them when they’re too scared or embarrassed to go to the police.
Even though all the books follow the above theme they will all be individual stories with different characters so you can read them as standalones because the next book does not lead on from the previous one.
Meet the team (you’ll get to know them individually throughout the series):
Robert: the owner of AI who prioritises, allocates and oversees all the cases being dealt with. He is happily married to a man and insists on his team members being gay or gay friendly. Martine: Robert’s bubbly secretary who provides support to the investigators and thrives on all the office gossip. Jane: a senior investigator. A happily married mother who enjoys being around her gay colleagues and friends (and spends most of her social time with them). Grant: One of the investigators. An East End wide-boy who loves to flirt with the men and flaunt what he’s been gifted with. Shane (nicknamed Shady Shane): One of the investigators who’s gay, but struggling to come to terms with his true sexual identity. Truman: a senior investigator who is openly gay and desperate to find the man of his dreams. Bartholomew (nicknamed Barty): A student who spends his gap year training at AI. He’s going through an experimental stage in his life and open to suggestions from either sex.
